Description/Job Summary


  • Develops, implements and administers human resources plans, policies and procedures.
  • Develops and executes strategic initiatives for the Human Resources function that supports overall business strategy.
  • Facilitates company-wide strategic planning, and participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvement.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, temporary workers, and interns, and performs new employee orientations.
  • Develops and monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Trains managers on appropriate performance evaluation process and procedures, employee discussions, and documentation. Assists management on all issues related to employee performance issues.
  • Performs benefits administration to include sourcing suppliers and administrators, claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoice payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Designs, directs and manages a process of organizational development that addresses items such as succession planning, workforce development, employee retention, organizational design, and change management.
  • Understands training and development needs of the workforce. Designs, implements and monitors training initiatives such as new employee orientation, customer service, management, safety, among others.
  • Manages employee communication and feedback through a variety of methods including employee newsletters, company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, and focus groups, among others.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO guidelines.
  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviews.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records, company organization charts, and employee directory. Compiles reports from database as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.


  • BS/BA degree and a minimum five (5) years of hands-on Human Resources management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources certification is a plus.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, models integrity and confidentiality, and displays characteristics supportive of the ideal company culture.
  • Proven leadership; ability to articulate information and persuade the highest level of executive and management personnel, owners, and outside parties.
  • Experience with strategy development and execution of initiatives.
  • Supports company policies and makes data-driven decisions, while actively looking for improvement opportunities.
  • Flexible and comfortable with challenging the status quo.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills, and respectful communication style. Ability to communicate with a variety of personalities and educational backgrounds.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, self-directed, and manages time effectively.
  • Experience managing multiple site locations and offsite employees.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills. Experience with an HR information database.
